What time does the tour start and where is the meeting point?

• Usually, our tours start at 09:00 AM (departure from the shop) or at 02:30 PM.
• We offer a complimentary pick-up service for guests staying in Funchal and Santa Cruz.
• For locations outside these areas, an additional transportation fee may apply, or we can meet directly in Funchal.

Where do the tours start?

• We start our descents from the highest points of the island accessible by bike: Pico do Areeiro or Paúl da Serra.
• This ensures the best views and the longest trails available.

How long does a tour day last?

• The duration is tailor-made.
• It depends on the chosen tour, the group's energy, and the technical skills of the clients.
• Our goal is for you to make the most of it without rushing.

What happens in case of bad weather?

• Madeira has microclimates; if the weather is bad in one area, we adjust the tour to a safe part of the island.
• If riding is impossible due to safety reasons, we offer the option to reschedule (subject to fee or availability).

Is food and water provided?

• Some tours We stop at local restaurants for lunch to experience authentic Madeiran cuisine (cost not included).
• We recommend bringing your own water bottle or hydration pack, which can be refilled during our stops.

Can I book a half-day tour?

• Yes! Unlike other operators, we offer flexible options that can include half-day tours (subject to availability).

2. CUSTOMIZATION & GROUPS

Do I need to be a pro to ride in Madeira?

• Not at all. We have routes for all levels, from smooth dirt roads for beginners to technical EWS-style tracks for experts.
• Since our tours are private, we select the terrain based on your specific experience.

Will I be riding with strangers?

• We prioritize exclusivity.
• Our groups are generally private, meaning you only ride with your family or friends.
• This ensures a pace that respects your group's technique and fitness level.

Can I book a fully private tour?

• Yes. Subject to availability, the cost for a private van with a driver and exclusive guide is €385 (excluding bike rentals).

Are all tours guided?

• We offer both guided and self-guided options.
• For larger groups or challenging routes, we always recommend a local guide (or two) to ensure maximum safety.

Offer - Drone Video (Teaser 20s)

• The package price includes videos shot with a drone (20s teaser).
• DRONE VIDEO***: It's important to note that drone recording can be affected by adverse weather conditions (rain, strong wind, or fog).
• Availability of the drone pilot is also a factor; please confirm availability at the time of booking.
• This additional service is included, but there is no guarantee that the filming will be done due to the factors above.

If I book several days, will I ride the same trails?

• Madeira has a massive trail network. For multi-day bookings, we plan itineraries to show you as much terrain as possible, avoiding repetitions unless you want to ride your favorite trail again!

Is there an age limit for the tours?

• Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or provide a written authorization. We have bikes and trails suitable for young shredders, as long as they have the minimum height for our rental bikes.

3. EQUIPMENT & SAFETY

Do I need to bring my own bike?

• You can bring your own bike or rent one from us.
• We have high-performance bikes ready for Madeira's terrain.
• Important Note: To ensure your bike is perfect for you, don't forget to provide your height and weight when booking!

Are helmets and protection included?

• Yes. We provide all necessary safety gear (helmet, knee pads, etc.) suitable for your tour.

How does insurance work?

• It is highly recommended that each rider has his own Personal Accident Insurance that covers any hospital expenses in case of injury. We offer a base insurance, and we are not responsible nor do extra payments in case the coverage by the insurer is exceeded.

Do you offer E-Bikes and can they ride in the same group as analog bikes?

• Yes, we have high-performance E-Bikes available for rent.
• In private tours, we can mix both types; our guide will manage the pace to ensure everyone stays together and enjoys the ride.

What should I wear or bring with me?

• Weather in the mountains can change quickly. We recommend wearing layers, including a light windbreaker or waterproof jacket.
• Don't forget your gloves and appropriate cycling shoes.

Do I have to start my multi-day booking on a specific day of the week?

• No. At Get a Ride, we offer total flexibility. You can start your tour on any day of the week, perfectly adapting to your flight schedule.

4. BOOKINGS & PAYMENTS

How do I secure my booking?

• Booking is only confirmed after a deposit.
• The remaining balance must be paid in full before the start of the first tour.

Do you offer accommodation or airport transfers?

• We specialize exclusively in tours and bike rentals.
• We do not offer accommodation or transfers directly, but our commercial partners can help. Contact us for recommendations!
